FM Transmitter Review Comments about XtremeMac AirPlay Boost FM Transmitter --

This is a sleek looking little FM Transmitter. We like how it connects to the iPod and matches the size. Its nice to see an external antenna. This give us the hope of giving a better transmission than most but we're not sure it actually makes a difference. In fact we've even come across a FM Transmitter with what looked like an antenna but when you open it up it's just hollow plastic! That transmitter never made it to market thankfully.

It allows for 3 preset frequencies and it only runs off the iPod and hence can only be used for the iPod market, so if you don't use an iPod you need to keep looking. It does cover the entire FM band.

XtremeMac AirPlay Boost FM Transmitter Manufacturer's Description --

The XtremeMac AirPlay Boost FM Transmitter for video iPod streams your music over any FM frequency. By tuning AirPlay Boost and an FM stereo to the same open frequency, you get an instant, wireless connection. Making that signal as strong as possible is AirPlay Boost's external antenna, which significantly increases how clear the transmission is. This model comes in black, but it's also available in white.

Using Airplay Boost couldn't be easier. Three easy-access buttons right on the front of the sleek aluminum case make controlling the unit a snap. Tuning, settings and all controls are displayed on your iPod screen. Airplay Boost lets you use the entire permissible FM range. You can save and jump to the best ones with Airplay Boost's three pre-set frequencies. Since broadcast radio varies from city to city, we include a Stereo/Mono setting to let you find the clearest signals.

Every part of XtremeMac AirPlay Boost FM Transmitter was designed to be easy. You get a wireless stream immediately without any installation, software or even batteries. There's also a special pass-through connection. With it, you can charge your iPod with any standard dock connector charger without disconnecting Airplay Boost.

XtremeMac AirPlay Boost FM Transmitter Frequencies --
( 5.0 Stars)

The XtremeMac AirPlay Boost FM Transmitter covers the entire public FM band of 88.1 to 107.9.

XtremeMac AirPlay Boost FM Transmitter Available Audio Source Options --
( 1.0 Star)

The XtremeMac AirPlay Boost FM Transmitter uses an iPod connector so you can't use any other audio device. The one we reviewed is for iPods with video but they also have one that is for the iPod Nano too.

XtremeMac AirPlay Boost FM Transmitter Available Power Source Options --
( 1.0 Star)

The XtremeMac AirPlay Boost FM Transmitter only works with a iPod. No batteries or external power is available but a pass through connector allows you to keep the AirPlay Boost FM Transmitter connected as the iPod is charged.

Distance of XtremeMac AirPlay Boost FM Transmitter --
( 2.0 Stars)

We were unsuccessful in finding any manufacturer's claims for distance. From our analysis and other customers experience it seems to do the job but definitely doesn't cover a long distance. It seems to be more for the car if anything.
